Day on the Hill

October 11 @ 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM

  • « Annual Meeting: June 15, 2023
  • Saturday Night at the Races – November 4, 2023 »

Join members of LWVN as we convene on Beacon Hill for LVWMA’s first in-person Day on the Hill in three years on Wednesday, October 11, at 9:30am.

Day on the Hill is the Massachusetts League’s own lobby day for the current legislative session.  This year, LWVMA members will act together and raise our collective voice on Beacon Hill to advocate for voting rights including same day registration, maternal health, gun violence prevention, and protection from forever chemicals known as PFAS.

Following the advocacy session, LWVN members will be gathering together from 12:30 to 2pm in Conference Room #348 for lunch and a meet and greet with our four legislative representatives.  You may join us for the full morning with lunch, the morning advocacy session only, or the lunch session only.

Register to attend the advocacy session HERE.  Please register by Wednesday, October 4 at 5pm to allow time for LWVMA to schedule meetings with your legislators.

If you would like to join LWVN for lunch, please email your lunch choice from the menu of sandwiches and wraps below to Sharyn Roberts at sharynLroberts21@gmail.com by Wednesday, October 4 at 5 PM

More information on Day on the Hill and lunch choices follow.

Day on the Hill Information

Day on the Hill is the League’s own lobby day each legislative session. Your advocacy this session has already led to victories for LWVMA policy priorities. Let’s keep up the momentum by advocating for voting rights including same day registration, maternal health, gun violence prevention, and protection from forever chemicals known as PFAS. We will be briefed on the bills and then go to our legislators’ offices to meet with them.

Exciting news: Senate President Karen Spilka will deliver the keynote address at our Day on the Hill.

View the information packet for Day on the Hill here.  It contains detailed information about the key legislation. In accordance with our sustainability guidelines, printed copies of this packet will not be available at the event; remember to download it to your phone or tablet. We will have printed information sheets on the bills in the four priority legislation areas.

We are excited to be back in person for the first time since 2019. A hybrid option will be available to participate in the general program. Hope you can join us!
