LWVN Membership

Welcome New Members!

We look forward to your involvement in our mission to empower voters and defend democracy!

The League of Women Voters operates on three levels: local, state, and national. When you join the LWV Newton, you automatically become a member of LWV Massachusetts and LWV of the United States and will receive communications from all three levels of the organization.

Voting membership in the LWV Newton is open to all people 16 years and older who pay dues to the local (Newton) organization (student members are not required to pay dues). Donations to the state and national level, while very welcome, do not confer voting membership in LWV Newton.

Renewing members

Can't find your renewal request email? Feel free to use the form below - as long as your email address matches, the form will update your existing record.

Advice on filling out the form: Use the tab key to move to the next field. Avoid hitting the "Return" (aka "Enter") key until you have completed the form and are ready to move to the review stage.

Dues

Suggested dues cover our per-member obligations to the state and national League organizations. For an individual, those obligations come to a little under $60; for a household, $90.

If you choose a household membership, we will contact you directly to add or update details about the additional household member (our form isn't quite up to that task yet!)
$1.00
We do not want dues to be a barrier to anyone joining us! If you wish to pay a lower dues amount, pease UNCHECK all options above and enter that amount here. (Use the donation option below if you wish to contribute more than the suggested amount.)

Additional Contribution

We rely on additional contributions to fund activities at the local level. Would you like to make an additional contribution?

Go lower! Go higher! We welcome your contribution in any amount.

Scholarship Fund

Would you like to make a donation to LWVN's scholarship fund?

$1.00
Each year, LWVN awards $2,000 each to two graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated a strong interest in civic engagement. Learn more about LWVN's Scholarship Program.

Demographics

The League of Women Voters Newton is committed to bringing racial and gender equity to our work (see LWVN’s Diversity Policy). Your answers to the demographic questions below will help us better understand where we are on our equity journey and develop an action plan to get us to where we want to be. Responding to these questions is optional.

Payment Options

Dues for membership are paid directly to the League of Women Voters, Newton (LWVN) and are non-tax-deductible.

To make a tax-deductible contribution in lieu of dues, you may choose to contribute to the LWVUS Education Fund (LWVEF). To do this, choose "pay by check," but please send your check to the LWV Newton treasurer.
