Join Us! Sunday, January 10, 2021 3-4:30pm

The LWVN invites you to a community book group discussion of the book, Factfulness: Ten Reasons We’re Wrong About the World – and Why Things Are Better Than You Think, by Swedish statistician Hans Rosling with his son Ola Rosling and daughter-in-law Anna Rosling Rönnlund.

If you haven’t had time to read the book, no worries.  Use the resources below to catch up on the themes of the book, and join in on the discussion.

You must register in advance for this meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

The League of Women Voters, on the local, state and national levels, makes extensive efforts to provide communities with accurate information pertaining  to elections and issues of civic responsibility.  This book may help guide us in our endeavors. 2020 has been a uniquely difficult year, and a lesson in optimism may be welcomed by all, so we are excited to share our book club choice with all of you.

Factfulness explains how our worldview has been distorted with the rise of new media, how ten common human instincts can prevent us from seeing the world factfully, and how we can learn to overcome these innate biases to help separate fact from fiction when forming our opinions and to see the world more positively.

” …if you are more interested in being right than continuing to live in your bubble; if you are willing to change your worldview; if you are ready for critical thinking to replace instinctive reaction; and if you are feeling humble, curious and ready to be amazed – then please read on.”  from Factfulness.

Copies of the book are available through the Minuteman Library Network and can be purchased at local bookstores and at Amazon. If you are having trouble finding the book please contact us and copies of the book will be made available.
