LWV Newton, in coordination with NewTV and together with other local leagues, will be holding Candidate Forums for upcoming primary contests in the 4th Congressional District, Governor’s Councillor District 3, and Middlesex 10th District. Members of the public within these districts are encouraged to submit questions for the candidates by no later than July 31, 2026. Questions should be relevant to the candidates for a given seat. Due to limited time, questions will be screened by league board members to ensure a wide range of topics are covered.
All candidates in each of these primary races have been invited to participate in their respective forum, but not all candidates have accepted our invitation to participate. However, if two or more primary candidates express a willingness to participate, the forum will be held.

The forum will be conducted according to League of Women Voters guidelines. After a brief opening statement from the candidates, a League moderator will ask questions submitted from League members and the public, followed by closing statements from the candidates.
Recordings of the forums will be posted to this website and on social media when available in mid-August.
