To All Our Members:
We’d like to take this opportunity to wish all our members Happy Holidays and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
In the past few months, LWVN has been busy – we held candidate forums, hosted Saturday Afternoon at the Races, published a Voter’s Guide, held a Topic Meeting on the parking ban ballot questions, and engaged in voter registration and voter information events throughout the spring and fall … and all that was just related to the municipal election. We also held a legislative roundtable forum, hosted a discussion on antisemitism centered around the book “The Plot Against America“, and most recently participated, together with six other of our sister local leagues, in a question and answer session with Congressman Jake Auchincloss.
But we have so much more work to do ….
The upcoming year will be bringing many new things for our city – a new mayor, many new members on the City Council, and an almost entirely new School Committee. There are changes in the executive administration and a new City Clerk, whom we have already had the pleasure of meeting. During all this change, we continue to work toward the goals set forth in our positions and established as priorities during last year’s Annual Meeting.
