The Newton Climate Action Plan is being updated for 2025-2030. This plan will provide a roadmap for the next few years of climate change work, including mitigation and adaptation, in Newton. Our City’s goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
The first draft of the plan was distributed by the City’s Sustainability team for public input in early November. That draft plan can be viewed Here.
LWVN submitted its comments to the City on November 12. Read LWVN comments on the Draft Climate Action Plan.
After public comment, the City will incorporate feedback and finalize the plan’s text. LWVN will be following the City’s progress.
