
A special election will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 to elect a candidate to fill the vacant Ward 7 position on the School Committee. Please note that residents from all Wards can vote in this election. Currently, only one candidate is running for this seat; Alicia Piedalue.
Early, in-person voting for this election will be held at Newton City Hall as follows:
- Friday, March 7, 2025 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Saturday, March 8, 2025 11:00am – 5:00pm
Polls will be open across the city from 7:00am to 8:00pm on Election Day, Tuesday, March 18.

Vote By Mail applications have already been mailed out.
You can return your mail-in ballot in person at the City Clerk’s office or drop it off in the secure drop-box outside City Hall. Ballots dropped off in person or at the drop-box must be in by 8 p.m. on March 18, 2025, to be counted. Mailed ballots need to be postmarked by March 18, 2025 to be counted.
