LWVMA is turning 100 next year! Be a part of the anniversary committee

April 21, 2019

Members & Friends of the LWVMA:

The LWV is turning 100 in 2020!  The LWVMA is formulating plans to celebrate the founding of the LWV, LWVMA, and passage of the ‘right to vote’ 19th amendment!  In so doing, LWVMA has established its 100th Anniversary Committee, charged with working with the state Board to develop a set of priorities and activities to guide the celebration.

The 100th Anniversary Committee will make recommendations to the LWVMA Board for a possible signature event in Spring, 2020 and a Fall, 2019 conference; and will develop lists of other activities to promote the League and the important anniversaries throughout 2019 -2020.  A list of suggested activities and resources that may be used by local Leagues to celebrate and educate in their communities, as well a listing of events for which plans are being made by Local Leagues and other groups throughout the Commonwealth, is also being planned.

We seek your input, recommendations, and participation!  Contact us the committee at 100thanniversary@lwvma.org.

  • Send us your thoughts and ideas for activities the LWVMA or local Leagues to consider to celebrate the 100th Anniversary.
  • Let us know what your League has planned.  The Committee plans to set up a way to share these events and ideas with other Leagues.
  • Volunteer to be a member of the 100th Anniversary Committee.  We would love to have members representing all of Massachusetts.  The committee meets via Zoom conferencing, so you do not need to travel to meetings.

We look forward to working with you to make the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the LWVMA and the passage of the 19th Amendment an exciting and informative year.
