The latest science reports leave no doubt that reducing greenhouse gas emissions is essential if we are to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. Emissions from transportation account for 39% of total emissions in the New England region. In
December 2018, nine northeastern states and the District of Columbia announced an agreement to work collaboratively on a regional plan to reduce emissions from the transportation sector. Massachusetts was one of the first states to join.
