From LWVMA: Volunteer to work on Election Day Nov. 6 at polls which have had problems in the past. The League is once again joining the election protection effort sponsored by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice. Live trainings, as well as digital on-demand trainings, will be provided in late October so volunteers are well-equipped to spot common voting problems. Volunteers work in pairs or small groups to monitor polling locations throughout Massachusetts with high volume and a history of voting irregularities.
By volunteering for a minimum of 3.5 hours, you can serve a crucial role in preventing and resolving issues that bar eligible voters’ access to the ballot box. Volunteering with young people or those you mentor promotes civic engagement.
To volunteer, fill out the form here. For more information, contact Meryl Kessler, LWVMA executive director.
