Agendas:

  • City Council MBTA Presentation 6-25:  The MBTA is beginning a 30-month long track and signal replacement project along the length of the Green Line D Branch across the City of Newton.
  • Land Use Committee 6-26:  Discussion of:
    • Planning Proposal to have ‘on-call’ consultants “The consultants were historically hired through individual RFP processes overseen by the Director of Planning. Within the next six months, several large developments are expected to file land use petitions, such as Riverside and Northland. Given the scope and complexity of these projects, outside consultant reviews will be necessary. The Planning Department is proposing to assemble a list of on-call consultants from various disciplines through an RFP process in advance of Special Permit filings, in lieu of hiring consultants ad hoc throughout the process.”
    • A petition seeking to amend Council Order #167-14 to allow the retail sale of recreational marijuana and to remove conditions pertaining to operations.
    • Garden Remedies response to public hearing question here
  • Zoning & Planning 6-25:  Public Hearing on:
    • adoption of Needham Street Vision Plan
    • Zoning Amendment for Shared Parking Pilot Program
    • Mixed Used 4 district
    • limit residential portion of business zone developments
    • moratorium on zone change/construction on Washington St.
    • regulate marijuana establishments
