On Tuesday evening, May 29th, the Newton City Council will be voting on proposed changes to zoning in our city. Perhaps you saw the article in the Boston Globe which started
Newton city officials will hold a public hearing Tuesday, May 29, on a package of proposed zoning amendments that would curtail the size and construction of mixed-use residential developments.
One of the measures — proposed by Ward 4 Councilor-at-large Leonard Gentile — calls for a moratorium on zoning changes and construction along the city’s Washington Street corridor.
Two other measures would limit the size of residential portions of mixed-use developments, plus potentially impose size restrictions or a moratorium on those projects.
