The CPC is adjusting their funding guidelines and wants to hear from you! (Click here for the proposed guidelines.) Their next meeting is on Tuesday, March 13th, 7 pm in Room 211 at Newton City Hall. If you can’t attend, you can send an email to Alice Ingerson, the CPC Program Manager, at aingerson@newtonma.gov.
Here are the comments that LWVN sent in about the proposed changes:
LWVN fully supports the recent proposed changes to the allocation targets in the Community Preservation Plan as well as the welcome clarity in determining what are appropriate CPA-funded projects. Priorities can change over time and the CPC should be able to adjust the allocations to reflect the needs and priorities in Newton. Additionally, increased transparency in the process of applying for CPA funds will hopefully improve both the type of projects that are put forward and the efficiency of the CPC process.
