This Thursday–Topic Meeting: What can be done about Newton’s 588 gas leaks?

Come to the November League of Women Voter’s Topic meeting on

Gas Leaks in Newton

and learn what can be done about our 588 leaks

Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm

At NewTV, 23 Needham Street (on Easy Street next to National Lumber Company)

Speakers:  Launa Zimmaro, LWVMA Environmental Specialist

                  Ellie Goldberg, Mothers Out Front

 Natural gas leaks:

  • Can cause explosions
  • Kill trees and other plants
  • Harm human health
  • Are an extraordinarily potent greenhouse gas
  • Waste a valuable fossil fuel that has been harvested through fracking

What’s more – we pay for all the gas wasted in leaks!

Thanks to Farmers’ Market Volunteers!

LWVN thanks all the volunteers who helped at the Newton Farmers’ Markets this year…especially Sharyn Roberts, who staffed our table every market, armed with a smile and voter registration forms.
