From LWVMA:
Join climate change activists at the State House Wednesday, May 11, for a Lobby Day to urge state Senators to bring S. 1747 and other carbon pricing legislation to the floor for a vote this session. Meet at 10 a.m. outside the General Hooker entrance at the State House. Look for Launa Zimmaro, our legislative specialist. This Lobby Day is sponsored by Massachusetts Campaign for a Clean Energy Future, a coalition that includes LWVMA, which will do a short briefing and distribute materials. You can RSVP that you will attend Lobby Day and have your Senator notified here. Time is running out in this legislative session to bring carbon pricing up for a vote. Senators need to hear from their constituents that they support carbon pricing and its potential impact on climate change. If you are unable to attend the Lobby Day on Wednesday, please call or email your Senator and let her know that S.1747, the carbon pricing bill, is important and that you would like to see it reported out of the Joint Committee on Transportation, Utilities and Energy by July 1 and come to the floor for a Senate vote before the session ends July 31. Senator Creem’s contact information is: Cynthia.Creem@masenate.gov. For more information on carbon pricing and climate change, see the LWVMA website here. |
