Unfortunately, the weather isn’t cooperating with the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts’ schedule. The message below was just sent to all LWV members in the state–hope they aren’t wrong about the weather in May!
The weather forecast for Tuesday night and Wednesday has led us to the difficult decision to cancel the League’s Day on the Hill lobby day this year. We know it would be hard for many of you to get to Beacon Hill in bad weather. Even though we don’t know yet exactly what this storm will bring, we had to make the decision in time for people to change plans they were making for the event.
Instead, please use the legislation packet you received last week to hold your own “Day in the District.” Consider inviting your state Senator and Representative to have coffee soon with some League members to discuss the bills, particularly the featured bills, in that packet. You have the information on the bills and the talking points, and feel free to contact the appropriate legislative specialist if you need additional information. We won’t let a snowstorm stop the League’s efforts at the State House!
We hope to see you instead at the LWVMA Council meeting May 10 at Framingham State University-and certainly it won’t snow then.
Thanks for all your efforts in support of the legislation the League is working on.
